UGC Coaching Classes for SC/ST/OBC and Minority Students

The College through the coaching classes for the students belonging to the marginalized sections of the society, continuously strives to provide all round help and assistance to its students has created excellent infrastructure and offers academic and co-curricular activities in the campus, the college gives utmost importance to facilitate career counseling, placement and other professional help to young and aspiring students who can avail this opportunity to establish career in their life.

In February 2012, the College started the Coaching classes for its registered SC/ST/OBC (excluding creamy layer) and Minorities students under the Merged Scheme of XI Plan, UGC. These classes were attended by enthusiastic students from these backgrounds, who showed keen interest in learning and benefited from professional coaching by experts from their respective fields. In addition to coaching classes, these students were provided study materials such as books/ computer facilities, news paper, competitive magazines and on line resource materials etc. The faculty members of the college and some experts from outside, who have vast experience in their respective field were engaged as coordinator / instructor. The main focus of the resource person was on to improve the area in which students face difficulties so that the students can compete in different exams. The periodical tests/review and the assessment reports were prepared by the resource persons and the students were apprised about their weakness.

Kalindi College, University of Delhi and Sanskriti Foundation organized a Workshop on Career Counselling for the students to improve their academic skills for employment and provide them career guidance for competitive examinations.Ms. Ananya Srivastava, a student of second year B.A. (Hons.) Political Science, presented the welcome note and the event was honored by the esteemed presence of the speakers Mr. Amit Goyal [IRAS], Mr. Sachin Mittal [CA] and Mr. Mohit Gupta[Career Counselor]. Mr. Amit Goyal elaborately outlined the strategies for an UPSC aspirant. His enthusiasm while explaining details of the exam spurred the confidence of the students. Mr. Mittal counseled the students on professional jobs in corporate sector. Mr. Gupta interacted with students from Political Science, History, Geography and Economics individually and explained about the career opportunities in the discipline after under graduation. He also highlighted the importance of pursuing a career in law for the students. The speakers also talked about the moral aspects of life and how one needs to decide whether to give up or keep on fighting. They also discussed about the research projects they've been working on. The students were responsive and reflected keen interest throughout the session. Dr. Sangita Dhal, the Coordinator, UGC Coaching Classes, presented the vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude to the speakers for sharing their valuable experience with the students which would help them in the long run.
