Theme of Today

Committee: Theme of Today

It is a fact undeniable that every opportunity one has tomorrow is determined by ones intention, purpose, and skill TODAY. People tend to romanticize the past and dream of the future that leaves them caught between a past that controls them and a future that eludes. While the past may be important for education, one cannot be good yesterday. While the future is important for vision, one cannot be good tomorrow. Today is all one has!

Every day of the year is observed as a special day the world over to acknowledge the contribution made by all elements of our universe. With this thought in mind, the “Theme of Today” committee at Kalindi College was formed.

It was decided to make the “Theme of Today” flashing poster on the College Website, a daily ritual that everyone would look forward to. The idea uploaded would not only remind us of the useful contributions made by dedicated components of society but also help us get inspired to create more such wonderful opportunities across the globe for the day. For instance, World AIDS Day on December 1st may remind us of a dreadful disease on the one hand but it also teaches us to come forward and create a better world for those suffering from the same and help combat this problem.

Another example is International Yoga Day celebrated annually on June 21st which signifies the importance of mental and physical well-being in human life and the massive contribution that Yoga has made in achieving this the world over. The motivation that the young, the old and the children get by practicing yoga instils a hope of a better tomorrow. Thanks to this announcement by not only our Indian Government but also by UNICEF and WHO. June 21st is also The World Music Day but, how many of us know about it?? Yoga and Music both are indeed important to lead a healthy and happy life.

These unique illustrations and trivia shall help us throughout to understand how important these little things can be. So, now onwards our team will be up every day to introduce you to the Theme of the Day.
